Obituary: Jacob Lawrence Smith

Jacob Lawrence Smith, 26 years, died on December 17, 2022. Jake was a current resident of Escondido and worked locally, and graduated from the University of Idaho in 2019.

Jake leaves behind his mother and step-father, Lisa and Dan Hayes, his father, Scott Smith, five brothers, and three sisters, Jake was unmarried, but the love of his life was Natalie Burns. Jake also leaves behind grandparents, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins from Southern California to Washington State.

Jake loved the outdoors. He liked mountain bikes, camping, and hiking. He loved motorcycle rides, Vienna sausages, and eating sardines with Grandpa. He was always up for a good time with friends and family. And treated friends like family and family like friends. Jake was driven to serve others and not think about what it cost him. He was a true friend and had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the world. 

Services are as follows: Viewing: 9 am – 10 am with a Rosary to follow from 10 am – 10:30 am and funeral mass at 10:30 am, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at The Church of the Resurrection, 1445 Conway Dr, Escondido, CA 92027

Burial services at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park

A celebration of life potluck luncheon will follow and the location will be shared at the services.
