Logos School Plans Expansion, Looking to Hire District Superintendent

Moscow, Idaho– “Our goal has always been to serve as many like-minded families as possible,” Joe Casebolt, board chairman for Logos School, said in a press release on Wednesday.

Logos School, a local classical Christian K-12 school, announced plans to expand into their own independent regional school district which will maintain multiple school locations throughout the Palouse.

The plan is for three elementary school sites to feed into the new secondary school being built on the northeast side of Moscow. The district will have a Head of School at each new site which will be overseen by a school board and District Superintendent. The District Superintendent, which is currently open for hire, will be chief executive over the district and will aid in hiring various new positions.

Casebolt said that they hope to eventually have three new elementary schools in addition to the new secondary school, but the move will start with just one new elementary school as they plan to continue their expansion over the next couple of years.

Logos School’s current enrollment is close to 500 students.

Logos School says that this expansion will make it possible for them to reach more families wanting a rigorous, classical Christian education for their children.

Casebolt further explained, “Which is why, in our entire history, we’ve never turned away families for money. But we’ve gotten really tired of turning people away for space. It’s become obvious to the board that our model has to change if we’re going to accomplish our goals for the next forty years.”

Logos School, which was founded in 1981, pioneered classical Christian education and kickstarted a movement which is now used to educate students all over the world, the press release said.

Douglas Wilson, Logos School founder and vice chairman, explained this will be a momentous move for Logos and the Moscow community.

“In its relatively short history, the resurgence of the classical Christian model has resulted in a tremendous amount of fruit in the lives of hundreds of thousands of students,” Wilson said. “We are blessed and humbled by the opportunity we are being given to once again make our mark on the history of classical education.”

The current Logos School building is located on Baker Street in Moscow, but the location of the new sites have not been announced.
